We’ve had some great news regarding the existing overhead line and pole-mounted transformer. Gareth has been working with National Grid to resolve this issue and we are very grateful that National Grid have agreed to contribute to pay for the transformer move, with the Usk Pump Track Club just needing to dig the required trenching for the underground cabling. The pole can be moved once the wayleave agreements are in place.
Trustees have been focussed on getting the project into planning. Some of the required reports have been delayed, but we should get the final reports this week to enable us to submit the planning application.
We have also requested the early release of part of the Sport Wales funding. This would enable us to start the Sustainable Drainage Systems Approval Body application and legal work for the lease. If Sport Wales agree then it means this work can progress in parallel with the planning application, allowing us to start work immediately after planning approval.
